Renoir exposed in the Salon Exposition every year from 1878 to 1883. In April of 1883, Durand-Ruel had a new art gallery of boulevard de la Madelaine and showed only Renoir paintings in the exposition.
The artist traveled every year, to meet up with Cézane, to paint with Monet in Genova, or to Borgogna, where he met the beautiful Aline Charigot, whom he married in 1890.

In 1884-1885 new elements on his pictures showed the evolution of his art.
